Super location and really nice boutique hotel, The room we had was on the small side but that is fairly typical for the area. It was, however, clean, well appointed, and super quiet. The hotel is in a perfect location - right in the center …
The position of the hotel was good, just a short walk into the centre of Palermo. We did not find it a particularly warm welcome on arrival - maybe the receptionist was having a bad day but not a great first impression. All other reception …
I just spent 18 days at the Plaza Opera hotel. It was an excellent choice on my part. Not knowing what to expect, they've exceeded all expectations. It is a small, quaint boutique hotel. Cleanliness seems to be a top priority for them. All …
I would like to preface this by saying this is a good hotel. The rooms are very clean, the bathroom is amazing (great shower), beds are comfortable and the location is good. The rooms are definitely small and they don’t have any sort of …
This hotel has a prime location at the Politeama, a very nice area of Palermo, and three important bus stops are literally right around the corner: a Prestia & Comande stop for the airport shuttle, a Segesta bus stop for day trips to nearby cities, and the 108 city bus stop to Piazza Independenza (although this bus does not run very frequently).
The included breakfast is generous and delicious, served on the top floor with beautiful views of the city. The hotel does request that you choose a half-hour "shift" for breakfast.
The staff is responsive to questions and concerns and seem to tolerate well the primarily American, British, and German tourists that make up the clientele.
The rooms have several design flaws, and although they are minor I will list them for the convenience of any reader who might be planning a trip to Palermo. The AC does not turn on automatically when inserting the card into the slot upon entry; it must be manually turned on every time you enter the room. There is a bench set into the wall at such an odd angle as to be useless-- it seats one person uncomfortably and it is not possible to set a piece of luggage on it. The hanging bar of the closet is not parallel to the door but perpendicular, making it more difficult to hang and sort through clothes. The bathroom has many design flaws. The showerhead can be adjusted by height but not angle, and frequently slips out of its holder. The complimentary shampoo and body gel bottles are attached to the shower wall and are sometimes empty. The shower door swings to a closed position but does not latch. The sink stopper must be manually pressed to shut and to open it, meaning that to drain you must reach into a pool of water to press the stopper. The bidet is shaped like a rectangle not an oval, making it more difficult to sit comfortably. The towel rack has like 15 rods but they are fused so closely together that only 2 or 3 of them can actually hold a towel. Etc.
Finally, and this might have been unique to my stay, but on two nights the venue next door blared loud music from outdoor speakers at around 11 pm, waking me up and making it impossible to go back to sleep until the "concert" was finished. On other nights, you will most certainly hear the occasional traffic noise or rowdy revelers.
I realize that none of the flaws listed above are fixable by the hotel and I did not complain about any of them. I do recommend the hotel overall and was pleased with my stay, however again I list these flaws in case they might be useful for a traveler to know.
The room was newly renovated, minimalistic interior design, a bit small. Bed was comfortable. Marble tiles in the bathroom, with a narrow shower (almost hard to turn around inside). Aircon was super efficient, we had to turn it up because it was a bit too cold. Room also had a small fridge, but it wasn't very effective cooling down out beverages. The room also had the usual stuff.. flatscreen tv, safe etc.. Cleaning was very good, the maids did a excellent job.
I booked this place since it was really close for the bus stop to the airport and Palermo was not always pleasant to walk at night. So I didn’t have much expectations. But when I arrived I was surprised in a good way! The hotel is nice designed. The room was very cozy and super clean! I was enjoying the stay!
My window was facing an other house but I feel like it was amazing cause it was just so quite. In compression to other places in Sicily it was the most peaceful night I had.
The staff were also very nice!!
Stayed here for a few nights. Hotel is modern and clean and the staff were all very helpful. Breakfast on the rooftop is a nice way to start the day. The location is very central for main streets and some great eateries nearby if you avoid …
